Long Serving Doctor Farewelled

EGHS Life Governor and Ararat Hospital 'Building for the Future' Community Appeal Patron Dr Frank de Crespigny was farewelled by the Ararat Medical Fraternity, Health Service and Community prior to moving to Geelong after 88 years association with Ararat and District.

Over 91 years the de Crespigny family have served as doctors and surgeons in the community, commencing with Dr Frank de Crespigny Snr 1919 - 1963, Dr Frank (also known as Phillip) de Crespigny Jnr 1946/47 - 1988 and Dr Richard de Crespigny 1981 - 1988.

In addition to his 41 years of service as a Doctor, Dr de Crespigny was also a City of Ararat Councillor serving 13 consecutive terms, including 2 terms as Mayor. Dr de Crespigny was also an Ararat Hospital Committee member and former President and Vice President.

As part of the presentation Dr de Crespigny was presented with a Certificate of 'Notable Service' Award.
