Mustering at ‘Mundarra’ – Langi Logan

When: 19th April 2009

East Grampians Health Service will benefit from the forthcoming Mundarra Muster fundraiser which is to be held at Geoff Laidlaw's property at Langi Logan on Sunday, 19th April.

All proceeds from the Mundarra Muster Sunday Luncheon will be donated to the Angela Laidlaw Clinical Scholarship and will assist in the longevity of the scholarship for future generations.

The Scholarship is for ongoing Nurse Education and was donated by the Laidlaw Family in memory of Angela who sadly passed away in 2005.

With retention and recruitment of skilled clinical staff of critical importance in the short, medium and longer term for the health service at both Ararat and Willaura the Scholarship has created opportunities, which would not otherwise occur, for clinical staff.

The Angela Laidlaw Clinical Scholarship is presented each year at the East Grampians Health Service Annual General Meeting and the 2008 recipient was Leanne Atkinson who is using the scholarship to advance her skills in the nursing of renal patients and is studying a nephrology nursing course via correspondence facilitated through the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Adelaide.

The Mundarra Muster is being coordinated by EGHS Community Liaison Dianne Radford together with an enthusiastic community committee including Rowly Paterson, Geoff Laidlaw, Peter Carthew, Ferg Anderson, Terry Weeks, Peter Nicholson, Liz de Fegely, Liz Laidlaw, Sharon Meek and Judy Barr.

All the committee are well versed in getting involved in major events, and are pulling out all stops to make this event a must do on the rural social calendar.

With a wide network of contacts amongst the committee it is expecting up to 500 guests from right across Western Victoria and beyond to come along to the Sunday luncheon.

‘Mundarra' is located 10 km from Ararat on Mortlake Road, and through the generosity of Grampians Event Hire a large marquee will be erected beside the Hopkins River which runs through the property. The afternoon will be relaxing, with the finest cuisine prepared by EGHS Catering Team served together with Grampian Wines and Aussie Beers.

For guests attending from Ararat, a bus service will be available, departing the Ararat Performing Arts Centre at 11.30am and returning at 5pm.

Tickets to attend the Mundarra Muster Sunday Luncheon are now available at $90 per person, with tables of 10 also available. Please contact Coordinator Dianne Radford Tel: 53529387, Email: dradford@eghs.net.au.
