10th Anniversary of the WWW Dinner

30th August, 2011

Feathers & frivolity was the theme at this year's 10th Anniversary of the East Grampians Health Service Auxiliary Women, Wisdom & Wellbeing Dinner where more than 280 women attended raising around $12,000 for Garden View Court Hostel.

All the women who attended this year's dinner dressed up and some in spectacular outfits. The attendees of this event had gone to great efforts and harnessed their creative flair as they got into the spirit of the night. Feathers were used in a variety of ways to help create a carnival atmosphere.

Wanda Queen of the Little Desert Show performed an array of acts which had everyone laughing, singing and dancing on the night. Wanda told her story of her life in her own way, using the mediums of comedy and singing. She closed the event by singing the 60's classic hit "I am Woman" by Helen Reddy, which brought the audience to their feet.

Auxiliary President Mrs Liz de Fégely said "The WWW Dinner was a great event and everyone enjoyed the night.  We are appreciative of the support we received in local sponsorship and the many people who contributed to the success of the Dinner.  The Auxiliary raises money for different areas of the Hospital and this year we are delighted that we have raised enough money to purchase new comfortable chairs for the residents of Garden View Court Hostel. "

East Grampians Health Service President Mrs Sally Philip commented that "It great to see such a high level of involvement in dressing up in costumes from all the ladies who attended the dinner. This is great event that is well supported by local organisations and business's and is a credit to all the hardworking Auxiliary ladies that make it happen. Congratulations and well done in running such a successful event over 10 years and raising in excess of $90,000 for the Health Service."
