Olympic Spirit continues at Willaura
19th September, 2008
The recent Olympics in Beijing certainly stirred up a number of community activities including at East Grampians Health Service Willaura's Parkland House Hostel where residents and staff really got into the Olympic spirit.
Giant Olympic rings were made by the residents and fixed to the hostel's dining room wall.
The residents were amazed at how simple the rings were to make and were quite proud of their efforts with many comments being made by visiting families, friends and community people.
A ‘shot put' competition of six rounds became very competitive between the green and gold teams, with the gold team coming out on top by two shots.
At the end of the activities, medal presentations took place, followed on by an afternoon tea which topped off a great Olympic fortnight for the ‘Parkie People' at the Willaura campus.
