New CEO looking forward
29th June, 2009
East Grampians Health Service CEO Robert Bulmer is delighted with his new role and is looking forward to the challenges the position will bring.
Mr Bulmer said he was impressed with the direction EGHS was heading after beginning the role on 29th June 2009. "I was attracted to the position of CEO at EGHS due to its excellent reputation and its long history of service to the Ararat and surrounding community," he said. "I look forward to contributing to the ongoing development of EGHS and following on from the excellent work of my predecessor, John Davies who served as CEO for almost 10 years".
Mr Bulmer has more than 30 years experience in the health industry, beginning in 1970 in metropolitan hospitals. He held a CEO position at Wangaratta (1981-1996), was executive director of corporate services for Cairns Health Service District (1997-2001) and was CEO at East Wimmera Health Services (2001-2009).
Mr Bulmer said Ararat should consider itself lucky with the quality of health services currently available and he was looking forward to EGHS moving forward and continuing as one of Victoria's leading health services.
