Ararat Branch Blue Ribbon & Ararat Police help out @ Macca’s
15th September, 2008
The Annual McDonald's Drive Thru Challenge held in Ararat on Friday 12th September between 6.00 - 7.00 pm raised just on $400 which will go towards the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.
Members of the Ararat Branch of the Foundation, together with Police Officers from Ararat Station did their bit to entice customers not only to go through the Drive-Thru but also to help out with their coins for the tin rattling.
Those on duty for the night handed out police remembrance ribbons for the adults and merchandising for the kids and were amazed at the generosity of the community. Importantly and very pleasing was the awareness of the symbol of the remembrance ribbons for police officers killed in the line of duty.
As part of the one hour challenge, McDonald's Victoria donated $1 to the Blue Ribbon Foundation for every vehicle that ordered through a McDonald's drive-thru restaurant Victoria. Overall it is expected that up to $30,000 will be raised for the Foundation through the support of the McDonald's Drive Thru Challenge.
The Ararat Branch & Ararat Police would like to thank McDonalds Family Restaurant - Ararat and the community for supporting the activity and importantly giving generously so the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation can continue its work in supporting public hospitals so they can provide the best of facilities for the community.
