New Facelift to the Centre of Community Health

18th January, 2011

The new recent alterations to the Centre for Community Health will help with the newly expanded Dental Services being provided at East Grampians Health Service. These alterations will help with patient comfort whilst waiting to see a Dentist.

EGHS Carpenter and Project Manager Mr. Carl Barry commented that "works which we have been carrying out to the Centre of Community Health include a larger waiting room area and a new entrance which all should be completed within 2 weeks. Overall the project has been going well and gives my assistant Ashley Legget the opportunity to pick up some new skills."

EGHS Trainee Mr.Legget is doing his traineeship in Health Support Services which involves many tasks around the hospital such as Gardening, Maintenance, Carpentry and many more things. Ashley said "I have been doing my traineeship for 14 months now and I enjoy working with Carl, we have built some wall frames, plastered, installed cabinets and many other different jobs, its great work and I enjoy it."

EGHS CEO Mr. Nick Bush said "Improving the patients waiting time area was important as we are increasing the services in the Centre for Community Services such as three full time dentists, the area needed a makeover. It's just a better utilization of space and it made perfect sense to go ahead and make these new alterations to the Community Centre. This larger space will help cater for all the new dentists that have recently arrived at the Hospital."

Mr. Bush Highlighted his appreciation of the maintenance teams high quality workmanship and attention to detail.
