EGHS Auxiliary has another successful year

4th January, 2010

EGHS Auxiliary has had another successful fundraising year, and at their recent end of year get together members had the opportunity to visit the Inpatient Ward with the Director of Clinical Services, Helen Watt and Unit Nurse Manager, Lorine Paterson to check out the new equipment that has been purchased by East Grampians Health Service from their ongoing efforts.

Over the past year through conducting successful events such as the Seppelt Great Western Winter's Luncheon, the WWW. Women, Wisdom and Wellbeing Dinner and the recent Shopping Spree, the Auxiliary have been able to contribute to the purchase of a Paediatric Cot, a Cardiac Monitor for the Emergency Department, and a Blanket Warmer for the Midwifery Department.

Since 2001, the EGHS Auxiliary has raised approximately $100,000 for equipment and furnishings across all areas of the health service, together with sponsoring the Nursery Ward in the Acute Hospital.

Established in 1998, the Auxiliary still has seven inaugural members actively involved, and collective with new members are a committed group of progressive women who work tirelessly with their fundraising, and also get involved with helping out with major events for the health service, like the Mundarra Muster held last April.

Of the membership base at least 50% are from the rural areas outside Ararat. The group meet monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 5.30pm in Pyrenees House.  Meetings are always conducted in good spirit, and a great friendship has developed between all the members.

New members are most welcome, and for further information please contact EGHS Community Liaison Dianne Radford Tel: 53529387, or the EGHS Auxiliary Office Bearers Liz de Fegely (President), Kate Connellan (Secretary) or Alana Foster (Treasurer).
