Partnerships
Our partnerships are many and varied, united in the single purpose of improving the quality of care for patients, residents and the community. Our Rainwater Tank Farm is an outstanding example of partners working together in a unique pilot project to conserve a valuable resource.
A major partnership which continues to gather momentum is the Grampians Health Alliance. The Alliance comprises 4 Health Services, viz:
- Beaufort and Skipton Health Service
- East Grampians Health Service
- East Wimmera Health Service
- Stawell Regional Health
These independent Health Services have committed to work co-operatively to provide a range of services within the Grampians Sub-Region. Boards and Executive Staff of the Alliance Health Services believe that only through continued co-operation, the needs of our respective communities will be met. This year the Alliance tendered jointly for the provision of linen services across all sites. It is anticipated that through this collective approach, significant cost savings will be achieved. Next year we will continue our strategy of collectively planning and putting in place shared roles and services with our Alliance colleagues.
The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and Ararat Branch again continued their active support of East Grampians Health Service. Major donations from Blue Ribbon enabled us to further enhance the quality and range of diagnostic equipment within our Medical Imaging Department. The valuable partnership with Victorian Government, Department of Human Services and Australian Government, Department of Health and Ageing also continues.
Our new 'purpose-built' Nursing Home funded by the Department of Human Services is further evidence of the commitment to East Grampians Health Service by the State Government.
Veteran's Liaison Group
A Veteran's Liaison Group has also been established at EGHS to assist Veterans and War Widows in our community. Liaison with Veterans organisations, veterans in the community and Department of Veterans' affairs will maintain current information for the Health Service regarding veterans. Promotion through Ex Service Organisations aims to raise an awareness of services and entitlements available to veterans through East Grampians Health Service.
